About our Fragrances

IS YOUR PERFUME NATURAL AND ORGANIC?

Our fragrances consist of natural, plant-derived essential oils and safe synthetics. We often opt for safe synthetic fragrances because we never use animal products, and we don't include known allergens that can occur within natural essential oils. We also don't use endangered plant species or harvested materials that contribute to deforestation.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EAU DE PARFUM AND PERFUME?

The level of fragrance concentrate classifies perfume it contains relative to the amount of alcohol. Perfume is usually between 18-20% concentrate. Eau de Parfum is between 10-15% concentrate.

ThereThen perfume is a 15% concentrate making it an Eau de Parfum.

No, ThereThen perfumes do not contain phthalates. We must follow IFRA standards and the European cosmetics guidelines with all our ingredients.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ESSENTIAL OILS AND PERFUME?

Essential oils extract the "essence" from plants. These oils are used in aromatherapy, inhaled like a fragrance, or applied directly to the skin.

Developing essential oils involves extracting compounds from plants either mechanically (through cold pressing) or distillation (using water or steam).

Then, the chemicals are extracted from these compounds, combined with a carrier oil, and turned into a usable product. Many people think essential oils are all-natural, but this is only true when the compounds are extracted without chemicals.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY PERFUME?

You should store perfumes away from heat or light and temperature fluctuations (like in your bathroom). Keep your scent in a cool, dry place. Sixty degrees is the ideal temperature for storage.

HOW SHOULD I APPLY PERFUME?

Please don't rub it in. Perfume is all about the dry down. Let it dry naturally on your skin.

Resist the mist and walkthrough method. It is a waste of perfume and creates a residue in the surrounding area.

Be careful about layering on scented lotions, deodorants, and shampoos. Instead, consider unscented products to highlight the perfume.

Please don't overdo it. Trust your nose. Two to three spritzes should be plenty.

To make your scent last longer, choose a couple of pulse points. These warm areas will help diffuse the fragrance across your entire body. Your pulse points on your body include:

  • Your wrists
  • Inside your elbows
  • On your neck
  • Below your midriff
  • Behind your knees

Pro-tip: Spraying your ankles and calves allows the scent to rise throughout the day.
